Graham feels most at home turning large 'statement' pieces. He also likes hollow forms but feels that he hasn't achieved his full potential in this genre yet. Turning wet wood also gives him a lot of satisfaction. He says, "I like the way the rim sometimes distorts into an elliptical shape.", but admits that this is something of a lottery.

As Vice Chairman of Birstall Woodturning Club, Graham has ambition for its future expansion, particularly in view of the fact that the clubs new premises will offer outstanding opportunities. He sees a future for the club, when it will be in use on even more days of the week.

He's not just a pretty face either. Graham is qualified to City and Guilds level in Furniture Craft and Adult Education and has an HND in Conservation and Restoration. He is generous in passing his knowledge on to others at the club.

Graham's work is beauty to behold and belies the fact that he is visually challenged.
